As the sun starts to set

Time starts to slow down

The night slowly approaches

While everyone settles to sleep

We keep fighting the battle to survive

Even though the weight of the world

Feels like it’s on our backs

We knew for a fact that no one cared

Apathy was confused for empathy

And all the cockroaches gathered

To celebrate the pain of the exiles

But we knew that the pain was temporary

And we kept going forward

As the dark carnival followed behind

It was then you and I would look back

And we would finally smile

That we survived hell
